Week 1 College Football Viewers Guide

Another glorious college football season is upon us! We bring you the Week 0 edition of the world’s foremost authority on college football viewership, helping tens of people to clickover from Bama blowouts to more quality games since 2018!

(all times CT because that’s where the SEC West is located)

11 am: Tennessee vs. Virginia (ABC) in Nashville will probably get us warmed up for executing fundamental clickovers early and often. The options in the early slot include Colorado at TCU (Fox) to check in on the Coach Prime experiment, Fresno State at Purdue (BTN), Louisiana Tech at SMU (ESPNU) and Northern Illinois at Boston College (ACCN). And the Brian Ferentz scoreboard thermometer begins with Utah State at Iowa (FS1).

2:30 pm: Boise State at Washington (ABC) in a matchup of teams that came dangerously close to sharing a conference made of scraps. In other options, we don’t recommend tuning into Ohio State at Indiana at broadcast start time because the CBS SEC music will play and that’s just weird. Afternoon clickover options are a search for anything competitive including Rice at Texas (Fox), South Florida at Western Kentucky (CBSSN) and UMass at Auburn (ESPN). Cal at North Texas (3 pm, ESPNU) could have the ACC thinking “my goodness, what have we done?”

6:30 pm: North Carolina vs South Carolina (ABC) in Charlotte would be more fun if it was on either campus. West Virginia at Penn State is on NBC for some reason. Clickovers for those with a truly refined college football palate include UTSA at Houston (FS1), Washington State at Colorado State (CBSSN), Texas Tech at Wyoming (CBS) and Old Dominion at Virginia Tech (ACCN).

Sark After Dark: Coastal Carolina at UCLA (ESPN), Sam Houston at BYU (FS1) and Idaho State at San Diego State (CBSSN).
