Week 0.1 College Football Viewers Guide

· 2 min read

So. Anything much happen since we posted the last edition of the College Football Viewers Guide? How LSU will transition from Joe Burrow to Myles Brennan is still the biggest topic out there for the new season, right?

Checks news.

Oh. Oh dear.

Well, we’re not opting out of 2020! We’re back with the world’s foremost authority on college football viewership, helping tens of people to clickover from Bama blowouts to more quality games since 2018!

We’re off with Week 0.1 because it’s not a full week until the SEC tees it up of course. To all the directional state universities out there: we want to wish you all good luck. We’re all counting on you. There’s a bunch of upper midwestern folks who can’t count to ten waiting with a big “I told you so.”

(all times CT because that’s where the SEC West is located)

12 pm: Eastern Kentucky at Marshall (ESPN) - We have to start somewhere, right? Clickover at 12:30 to MTSU at Army (CBSSN) for some sweet, sweet triple option.

3:30 pm: SMU at Texas State (ESPN) - Did you hear about that thing Craig James did once?

7 pm: Arkansas State at Memphis (ESPN) - Interesting coaching matchup in prime time. Blake Anderson has guided the (checks notes) Red Wolves … to six consecutive winning seasons. Ryan Silverfield takes over from Mike Norvell in Memphis with a 1-10 lifetime record as a head coach: 1-9 in 2004 at a high school and a loss in the Tigers’ bowl following Norvell’s exit to Tallahassee.

Sark After Dark: Stephen F. Austin at UTEP (8 pm, espn3) - El Paso is far enough West so this will have to do as the only late-night matchup.

Bonus - Monday, 7 pm: BYU at Navy (ESPN) - Army and Navy hosting games on opening weekend. Watch this one in American Flag Jorts to celebrate!
