Week 1 College Football Viewers Guide - Kirby v Dabo

· 2 min read

The world’s foremost authority on college football viewership, helping tens of people to clickover from Bama blowouts to more quality games since 2018!

(all times CT because that’s where the SEC West is located)

11 am: Penn State at Wisconsin (Fox) - The early games feature a few Big Ten things to keep an eye on. Beyond the matchup in Madison, will Western Michigan give Michigan (ESPN) us the annual early season warning that the Wolverines continue to sink? Surely Nebraska can handle Fordham (BTN), right? And the BTN also gets to highlight how mighty the conference is with Temple at Rutgers.

2:30 pm: Indiana at Iowa (BTN) has the potential to be sneaky good in place of watching Bama destroy Miami (ABC). Clickovers: West Virginia at Maryland (ESPN), Louisiana Tech at MooU (3 pm, ESPNU) and Louisiana Lafayette at Texas (Fox).

6:30 pm: ABC should’ve flipped the time slots and put Clemson-Georgia in the afternoon, so we could have clicked off the Bama blowout in time for LSU at UCLA (7:30 pm, Fox). Kirby vs. Dabo is an interesting showdown. In the Rose Bowl, the Bruins and everyone picking them don’t understand what is coming tonight.

Sark After Dark: Arizona vs. BYU (ESPN) would be better on either campus instead of that weird stadium in Las Vegas. Other options include Nevada at Cal (FS1), New Mexico State at San Diego State (CBSSN) and Utah State at Wazzu (Pac12).

Sunday: Notre Dame at Florida State (6:30 pm, ABC) - It’s not 1993 and Charlie Ward ain’t walking through that door.

Monday: Louisville at Ole Miss (7 pm, ESPN) lost its luster a bit with the Lane Train out due to a positive COVID test.
